Imagine starting your wedding day with the first sunlight touching the mountains. You hike through the quiet Dolomites, write your vows along the trail and finally exchange them beneath the peaks of Cinque Torri.
This is exactly how P & J celebrated their Cinque Torri elopement.
They wanted a wedding day that felt simple, intimate and close to nature. So, instead of following a traditional wedding timeline, they turned their day into a little mountain adventure.
I joined them as their Dolomites elopement photographer. Of course, my little Bear came along too. 🐶⛰️🤍
First, we arrived early in the morning while the mountains were still quiet. The air was cool and the trails were peaceful. Meanwhile, the first sunlight slowly reached the surrounding peaks. Then, we started hiking.
Along the way, we stopped whenever we found a beautiful spot. At one of them, P & J sat down to write their vows. They took their time and enjoyed the peaceful morning around them. For me, these quiet moments are just as important as the ceremony itself. After all, an elopement is not only about exchanging vows. The whole journey becomes part of the wedding story.
After writing their vows, we continued our hike. Soon, it was time for a little break. P & J unpacked a picnic and opened some champagne. 🥂
There was no rush and no strict schedule. Instead, they simply enjoyed the fresh air, the mountain views and the time together.
Afterwards, we packed everything away and continued towards Cinque Torri. However, finding the right trail became a little adventure of its own. We pulled out the map, searched for the right way and kept hiking.
Bear followed us every step of the way. His navigation skills were questionable, but his moral support was excellent. 😂🐾
Eventually, we reached the foot of Cinque Torri. After our morning adventure, this was the place where P & J would finally exchange their vows. There was no traditional wedding venue. There was no crowd either. Instead, there were only P & J, the mountains and the sounds of nature around us.They stood beneath the impressive peaks and read their handwritten vows to each other.
I quietly captured the ceremony from behind my camera. Meanwhile, Bear proudly took on the role of their four-legged witness. 🐶🤍
After the ceremony, we explored the area around Cinque Torri. We took more photos, walked through the beautiful landscape and enjoyed the last moments of their Dolomites elopement.
For P & J, their wedding day was about much more than exchanging vows. It started with chasing the morning light. Then, we hiked through the mountains and found a peaceful place to write their vows. After that, they shared a picnic and champagne before we continued our journey.
Finally, they stood beneath Cinque Torri and promised their lives to each other. That is exactly what I love about photographing elopements.
As a Dolomites elopement photographer, I want to capture more than beautiful portraits. I want to document the small moments, the adventure and everything that happens in between. Most importantly, I want you to remember not only how your wedding day looked, but also how it felt.
So, if a traditional wedding does not feel right for you, create your own adventure instead. Chase the sunrise. Hike through the mountains. Write your vows somewhere beautiful. Bring a picnic and some champagne. Then, choose a place that reminds you how small we are — and how big love can feel. ⛰️🤍
And who knows? Maybe one fluffy honorary witness will join your adventure too. 🐶🐾
